Why have many people stopped dreaming today?

The ‘Doom and Gloom’ predictions by the ‘experts’ in today’s world keep up the frenzy of the media for news. Thus bad news gets everybody’s attention more than good news. We are all victims of media’s sensationalism.
The Financial Market responds to the predictions of the experts. Business owners want to be safe and do not plan for expansion of their businesses. They do not hire new people and stop spending to ride out the storm.
You cannot get jobs; therefore you cannot pay your bills. You cut your spending and make do without many of your wants and needs.
Families and relationships are threatened and more crisis result in financial and emotional troubles. You face depression and other health issues that are directly or indirectly related to the financial crisis.
You feel worthless because you have no control over your life. YOU STOP DREAMING!

Here are the steps to get back your Dreams:

a) The situation around you may be beyond your control – Accept it. You cannot improve your economy; you did not create the crisis. But you can certainly determine Your Destiny – BELIEVE IT!

b) Simply because you have experienced setbacks in different areas like your earning ability, job searches and relationships, do not think you have failed. –YOU ARE NOT A FAILURE!

c) Look around you. There is Hope. There are businesses that are thriving; there are people who are successful in spite of the economic uncertainty around them. There are still people who care for you. Your LIFE, your SKILLS and your DREAMS are buried deep within you. THERE IS A CHAMPION WITHIN YOU!

America is a better place because of one man who stood up to do the right thing. He could have resorted to violence and disruption of peace to gain a large following. But he chose the path of non-violence to achieve his goals. FREEDOM AND EQUALITY.

He had a DREAM that shone through the darkest decades of slavery in America. The dream to gain Dignity and Pride as human beings was uppermost on his mind. This was not his individual dream; but it was the aspiration of every human being suffering from oppression. He rallied the people as one force. Ultimately Righteousness and Truth won.

Every man, woman and child has value. Let us remember that in the days months and years ahead

Global Warming and Snowflakes in Houston

There has been a lot of controversy about the theory of global warming. Everyone is asking if we can really trust anybody’s findings. As the summit meets to discuss global warming, people are asking the inevitable question, “Is it really true that scientists are misleading the public?” Is the earth really getting much warmer?

I am asking the same question myself as I watch the snow falling in Houston. If it was really getting warmer, how is it that a warm place like Houston sees snow in the fall? It is not even winter! It really appears to be getting cooler.

But we all have our responsibility to mother earth. I would say that, if the world was getting affected by global warming, then we Must Stop polluting the air. It also means that we must stop drilling for oil on our soil. (It’s okay for those in the Middle East to pollute the air, right?!)

But wait! It has come to light that the ‘scientists’ manipulated the results to ‘prove’ to the world that we are doomed. Who Benefits by this ‘proof’? Al Gore? Obama and his associates? The OPEC? The answer seems to point to the people who had much to gain monetarily.

Al Gore has gained a lot of popularity and earned a substantial amount, thanks to the scientists’ discovery.

Obama has something to talk about besides economy, job market and recession. He also has something else, besides health care, to fund with the stimulus money. Great for our politics. His associates are quite happy to play the proverbial ‘second fiddle’ to Obama. They are safe and secure – for now!

The oil producing nations are very happy that America will continue to depend on their oil. They can hold us hostage forever, because we ‘do not want to pollute our air’! Our earth will get warm, the snow will melt, all our animals that live in the cold areas will become extinct and we will be scorched to death!

We are all looking at each other sheepishly. We have been so gullible. It is time to think and plan for the future with eyes wide open. We need to rethink our strategy based on truth, not assumptions. For example, if we have no real threat to global warming, we can drill for oil in our own soil. May be Sarah Palin’s ‘Drill Baby Drill’ wasn’t bad after all. After all we will be saving millions of dollars for America. We can really export oil to the middle East! Then countries like Iran will not have enough money to develop Nuclear weapons and cannot find enough funds to promote terrorism overseas. That would be heaven on earth, wouldn’t it?

That brings me to the beautiful scenery in Houston, Texas: Snow has been falling throughout the day today. But we are still in the Fall Season! The earth is not really getting warmer as we feared. We will still have the beautiful seasons and experience snow – even in Houston, Texas! We do not have to fear global warming. So do we have to fear global cooling?! I wonder.

The Economy Today

I was laid off a few years ago. I had to decide if I had to continue to be a Servant or the Master. I decided to be my own Boss. I am glad I did.

This Business has given me the ability to make Immediate income while building a Retirement Income. In addition, I am helping people who have lost hope. A story to warm your heart

GLASS OF MILK

One day, a poor boy who was selling goods from door to door to pay his way through school, found he had only one thin dime left, and he was hungry.

He decided he would ask for a meal at the next house. However, he lost his nerve when a lovely young woman opened the door.

Instead of a meal he asked for a drink of water! . She thought he looked hungry so brought him a large glass of milk. He drank it so slowly, and then asked, How much do I owe you?”

You don’t owe me anything,” she replied. “Mother has taught us never to accept pay for a kindness.”

He said, “Then I thank you from my heart.”

As Howard Kelly left that house, he not only felt stronger physically, but his faith in God and man was strong also. He had been ready to give up and quit.

Many years later that same young woman became critically ill. The local doctors were baffled. They finally sent her to the big city, where they called in specialists to study her rare disease.

Dr. Howard Kelly was called in for the consultation. When he heard the name of the town she came from, a strange light filled his eyes.

Immediately he rose and went down the hall of the hospital to her room.

Dressed in his doctor’s gown he went in to see her. He recognized her at once.

He went back to the consultation room determined to do his best to save her life. From that day he gave special attention to her case.

After a long struggle, the battle was won.

Dr. Kelly requested the business office to pass the final bill to him for approval. He looked at it and then wrote something on the edge, and the bill was sent to her room. She feared to open it, for she was sure it would take the rest of her life to pay for it all. Finally she looked, and something caught her attention on the side of the bill. She read these words …

“Paid in full with one glass of milk“

Tears of joy flooded her eyes as her happy heart prayed: “Thank You, God, that Your love has spread broad through human hearts and hands.”

There’s a saying which goes something like this: Bread cast on the waters comes back to you. The good deed you do today may benefit you or someone you love at the least expected time. If you never see the deed again at least you will have made the world a better place – And, after all, isn’t that what life is all about?

Stress Relief

People all over the world are filled with stress. There are people who habitually worry about everything under the sun. Sometimes they inherit this habit from their parents. Of course life throws things at us and we can feel overwhelmed. But there are those who complain about everything. Some worry about the things of the past, while others worry about the things about the present. But many others are stressed about their future.

Worrying is like sitting in a rocking chair and rocking. IT GIVES YOU SOMETHING TO DO, BUT TAKES YOU NOWHERE.

I have come across many who complain about the weather. When it is shining it’s too hot, when it is raining its messy weather and when it is snowing it’s too cold. How can we look at the same weather and be positive?

How about saying, “The sky is bright and clear and it is perfect time to swim, have a picnic and eat some ice cream.” Or you can say, “I can water the flower plants and the lawn. I can enjoy my outdoor activity today.”

When it rains, can you say/sing, “Listen to the rhythm of the falling rain…..” Go, run and get wet. Look at the drops of rain falling on the leaves and the puddles forming. You don’t have to water your garden today!

When it is cold you may say, “I haven’t worn this sweater for sometime. Let me try it on. I can curl up in this cozy weather and enjoy a fresh cup of chocolate/coffee/tea”

What are your words in response to your co worker’s, “How are you?” Do you say, “Well, it’s Monday”? Would you rather be positive about having a job that pays your bills, even though you have an irritating boss and a bunch of annoying co workers? Remember that there are so many people who would be thankful to just have a job that they can go to.

Are you sick? I read a very interesting poster in doctor’s waiting room:

WHY WORRY?

If you are sick, there are two things to worry about:

You will either get better or you will get worse.

If you get better, there is nothing to worry about.

But if you will get worse, there are two things to worry about:

You will die or recover.

If you recover, there is nothing to worry about.

But if you die, there are two things to worry about:

You will either go to heaven or you will go to hell.

If you go to heaven there is nothing to worry about.

But if you go to hell you will be shaking hands with all your friends, that you will have no time to worry at all!

WHAT IF YOU CAN BE 100% SURE THAT YOU WILL GO TO HEAVEN WHEN YOU DIE? Wouldn’t that give you the kind of peace that is enviable?

So you see, it is all about your ATTITUDE. You can choose to see positive things in every situation or see the opposite.

WHAT DO YOU SEE?
